Forests are being destroyed and transformed. Natural landscapes are being filled in and paved over. Crucial supplies of water are being polluted and made unusable and even hazardous. Species of wildlife stripped of their natural habitats and even robbed of life. There has been a technical alteration and destruction of the planet, suburbia’s plopped onto the landscape and cityscapes expanded and ever reaching farther into the natural world. Humanity is paving over this world with ill intent.In order to provide stability to the decaying infrastructure of the architectural world, architects, designers, and engineers need to transform their thinking; transformation not just in form but in ideals. This transformation needs to be a complete rework of the “block” progression. The basis for this transformation can be found in the Natural world. The Natural World holds scaler elements for the evolution of architecture. From the building blocks of cells to the root systems of trees, to the greatest up reaching mountains, there are elements that can be integrated and incorporated to establish a “new architecture”. It is time to lower the barrier between Humanity and the surrounding world. It’s time to be reintegrated back to the “primal” and reestablish the link for successful design. The intention of design and architecture needs to go beyond ground covering and spatial expansion. Architecture needs to go beyond the mimicry of the current design which surrounds the world, beyond the established methods of transformation.The world needs integration, where the separate entities become one and flourish for the benefit of each other. Through the integration of ecology and tectonics of the natural world the opportunity for architecture to transform is evident.How can Architecture no longer become a drain upon its surroundings, but instead create a symbiosis?Through analysis of natural systems under architectural system standards, architecture can achieve symbiosis upon its site.
