description: Communication is essential in society, but difficult across language barriers. Dictionary devices and mobile apps are distracting, and human translators are not always available and risk privacy. This project is developing and testing a translation system with the Bose Augmented Reality glasses as the interface, transmitting audio clips to Amazon Web Services for translation, and playing the returned speech in desired language back through the ear frame speakers. A Spanish to English service is being tested. This project is supported by Bose Corporation.
