description: The purpose of this thesis is to explore a new typology of multi-generational housing that erases the need for segregated elderly housing. This typology promotes social engagement among all residents in an effort to maintain community engagement. This thesis demonstrates a proposed solution to undesirable and isolating elderly housing. The design tests explores thresholds that promote social engagements in conjunction with the circulation, both aiming to determine how architecture can increase social interactions between generations. The final outcome will provide a housing complex that stimulates and supports social interactions througharchitectural design.
