Wandering is participatory, implying an active choicein movement, empowering the resident to explore the spatial and visualconnections to the reservoir. A familiar and approachable materialityacts as a way finder, coding the building and leading the wanderer on. Anetwork of paths root into the natural landscape, giving the opportunityfor choice of movement while also yoking together the urban fabric ofMassachusetts Avenue with the natural landscape of the Arlington Reservoir and park. The agency granted by choice re-defines the relationshipbetween the individual and community and engages the user throughwandering and exploration.
