description: This thesis aims to shift the perspective of design away from being human centered, and instead think holistically and consider all forms of life equally as important. By considering the needs of all forms of life in the construction of new buildings, we can begin to work with existing ecosystems rather than causing habitatloss or ecological imbalance. The existing ways of construction currently negatively impact the environment through the destruction of natural land, but by rethinking architecture on the site, building and detail scales, buildings can suit the needs of people and the environment in a holistic way. This thesis tests the ideas of breaking down animal habitats, researching animal behavior, understanding the current positive and negative relationships between humans and animals in zoos and farms, and even emerging examples of architecture that incorporates cohabitation between people and animals.
